Aadhi Bhagavan (2013) Reviews
Bhagavan Hits and Aadhi Flops...
After 2 years I have expected lot from Ameer and Ravi also but Im disappointed after seeing 1st half.but when the Mumbai Bhagavan character there was some sound wakes me up in the theater. And after interval BGM of Yuvan Rocks and it makes me entertained and of course acting of Jayam Ravi also quite brilliant(Bhagavan) and its not like Robo Aadhi and in Aadhi character he walks like Robo and don't have any expression and he should learn it from Thala from Billa.Coming to actress they should have go for some leading actress and climax fight by Neetu Chandra was good. But, her lip sync for her Tamil dialogs is below-par, truth to tell.overall Bhagavan was good and rating for him was 4/5 and for Aadhi was 1/5.
Gangster flick
I went to the cinema hall expecting a total badass gangsta flick, did i get what i wanted?yeah, to some extent.Ameer who has previously made movies like Ram and Paruthiveeran experiments with a full blown commercial flick. Aadhi Shanmugam is a gangster based in Bangkok,he earns the wrath of Rao brothers of Andhra Pradesh after he steals their stash posing as a CBI officer.Gradually he falls out with his boss Mr.Shyam , and everyone including his former boss and Rao brothers want him dead.Meanwhile he falls for a waitress and follows her to Mumbai. What happens next is the interesting part of the story. This movie is by far the best movie of jayam ravi,he convincingly pulls of both the roles of aadhi and bhagavan.Neetu chandra has acted well too. There appears to be a few open ends but maybe the director has plans for a sequel.
Aadhi Bhagavan - A disappointment
If the makers of "Aadhi Bhagavan" were under the impression that controversies work in favor of a movie esp after Vishwaroopam Fiasco, they are in for a disappointment .There were plenty of empty seats in the theater even after the controversy surrounding the movie. Now on to the movie.I don't believe that the movie deserves a really big post cause the movie ain't worth it.So i will try and keep the review as short as possible. Now first to the plot of the movie. The plot isn't something really novel. It is a tale of Aadhi and Bhagavan, both played by Jayam Ravi.Aadhi, a gangster in Bangkok, lives a luxurious life who falls in love with Rani(played by Neetu Chandra) while Bhagavan is a local thug in Mumbai. How destiny brings them together forms the crux of the rest of the story.
Aadhibagavan-A pathetic way of storytelling
Seriously Tamil film directors have gone nuts especially the reputed ones.Aadhibagavan fails at many places. Story is run of the mill and Screenplay fails big time. Editing irritates mostly at the Fight scenes.Dubbing also is very poor. Music and BGM fail to impress.2nd half is very dragging and full of loopholes.Climax is pathetic. The movie is a rehash of Billa-2007 and Scarface at many places. Aadhibagavan will definitely sink at the box office and drift away from the viewer's mind. Avoid this movie if you value your time and money.
"Aadhi Bhagavan" - Rise Of The Titans
Finally the much awaited film of Ameer, "Aadhi Bhagavan", has hit the screens. The film went through 25 cuts and was still given a "A" certificate by the censor board. Well was the film really worth? Aadhi (Jeyam Ravi) is a underground mafia in Bangkok and lives with his girlfriend Karishma (Neetu Chandra). Despite being rejected by his parents for his gangsterism, Aadhi never fails to shower them with love. Karishma brings Aadhi down to Mumbai saying that her father wants to meet them. Once landed in Mumbai, Aadhi gets arrested by the local cops and is thrown into prison. Why was Aadhi arrested? What happened to Karishma upon arriving in Mumbai? Watch the film to find out. Jeyam Ravi has given his best shot for this film. Prepare to see him in a new avatar never seen before! His acting was way out of the box. Pre- release, Ameer had said that if he had to work again with the same hero, he would opt for Jayam Ravi and now we realize why he said so. "Aadhi Bhagavan" is Ravi's most daring and gutsy performance to date! He is quick in his moves in the action sequences. The star has put his heart and soul into the film. Neetu Chandra did a fair job to her role. Yuvan's music was a blast for the film. "Aadhi Bhagavan" is one of the few masterpieces of Yuvan. His background score was soft and crispy. Screenplay was unique & stylish for "Aadhi Bhagavan", especially during the action sequences. Music videos was done fairly but could have been better. Editing was not very satisfying. The fight scenes could have been trimmed abit to reduce the length of the film. Cinematographer Devaraj has made sure that he captured the fight scenes in a crispy and hardcore way. As one might expect, Ameer has delivered "Aadhi Bhagavan" with lots of blood and gore, but the love portion and the twist keeps you rooted to the seat till the very end. One might not have expected Jeyam Ravi to don such a role in the film. Verdict: Aadhi-Bhagavan is a 2 time killer which will not leave your mind even after watching the film. Ratings: 4/5
