  • More like a student film

Can't understand all these rave reviews. This was as bad as a movie gets - bad acting, stupid story, badly scripted, made no sense. It's like the writer had no understanding of biology at all. It sounded like such a good twist on the Frankenstein story that I felt I had to watch it. I think I could have written a better story. At least one that made some sense. I guess I've said enough. Big waste of time. Must be getting great reviews from the cast. It started out bad and never got better, just worse. Since I put in a spoiler alert, I'll give a brief synopsis. Lady scientist wants to reanimate life, buys a warehouse and while working at a morgue brings home dead bodies. Finally makes a man. Teaches him to eat, talk, play piano, dance and make love to her. Suddenly, for some reason, it turns out he can only eat live meat, so she starts feeding him live rats, then people she kills. Very gory and bloody in parts. I won't go any further. Very stupid ending. Not scary, just a total gore fest if you like that sort of thing.

  • One of the worst movies I have ever suffered partially through...

It was two things that lured me to watch "Corpsing". First thing was because it was a zombiesque-movie, granted with a twist on the "Frankenstein" story. But also because it was a Fangoria presentation. Which I then found out doesn't mean it is a good movie. I managed to endure 30 minutes of "Corpsing" before I gave up out of sheer and utter boredom. This movie was hopelessly boring and uneventful. It felt like I had watched an hour and a half, but only 30 minutes had actually transpired. The storyline was atrocious and offered little, if anything at all, of any interest, and I quickly found myself with my mobile phone in hand. The make-up was just laughable, it was screaming low budget, and the kind of low budget that you don't want to witness on the screen. It was bad, phenomenally bad. The acting, well, let's just say that they had nothing to work with in terms of a proper script and interesting characters, and it reflected poorly on their performances. I have no intention of ever returning to finish watching the rest of this snail-paced movie that had nothing worthwhile to it. It was 30 minutes straight down the drain, and I am glad I didn't invest another hour of watching "Corpsing". A word of advice, stay well clear of this 2013 stinker.

  • Awesome story, great flick!!!

This movie has taken the Frankenstein legend and has provided it with a fresh twist to make it a truly unique film! It was awesome to see a horror movie involving reanimation, a disturbing love story that will give you the creeps and make you think...all while grossing you out at the same time. I also found it appropriate that the film was shot in Pittsburgh, Pa., where another film about the dead coming back to life was filmed, "Night of the Living Dead" and then the original "Dawn of the Dead". I found the performance from the three lead actors very enjoyable, the female lead, appropriately named "Shelly", was great to watch and I can't go into her performance too much without letting out some spoilers, so I won't. I highly recommend it!

  • Entertaining....

Quite an interesting homage to a couple of literary classics. VERY well done, good acting, great plot, fun twists, and very well shot. If you loved any version of Mary Shelly's classic tale, you will love this. just enough of the original, the Bride of, and Young Frankenstein to keep me watching until the end. When it first starts I wasn't too sure I'd enjoy it, but once it gets going, it really is very good. Surprisingly believable, considering the minimal sets, and make up effects. Congrats to all involved for giving me a NEW version of an old song to enjoy.

  • Unleashes the Beauty in Horror

I saw the movie last night over at the Hollywood Theater. Fantastic work all way around. I was especially taken in by how well-written the script was and how involving the characters were--when Thomas said: "I'm a ghost" that was sad/chilling at the same time, which is something that's hard to pull off. And the dance sequences were about as macabre and beautiful as horror can get. Sometimes there can be great beauty in horror and it's been a long time since I've seen anyone go that way. A film like CORPSING really elevates the genre--I can see why it's doing so well. The two main actors, Jeff Monahan and Joanna Lowe played their roles earnestly and with passion--you could tell that they were always "in the moment" and their characters cared for each other deeply--which was also freaky at times! The soundtrack was effective as was the lighting and use of black and white sequences.
