DeadThirsty (2017) Reviews
delusional director
Movie takes almost 30 min to begin - most of it in slooooow scenes of people dancing and or walking lost. But the time is not spent in character dvelopment - we know she is kinda slutty, he is obnoxious, the other 3 charac are unknown. No one is very likable. When the 5 unite they begin to bitch around. After going to a party 5 people awake in a hospital, then it becomes a slasher The movie thinks that it svery important that you know it is 92. It thinks that it has an important message about the world new order, including flashes of hitler! Director is delusional and clearly untalented. They had an abandoned hospital to film and created an awful disconected story with almost no plot, and a main character that you will cheer when die.
New World Order
The film takes place in 1992 as a couple prepares to go to a rave in an abandoned hospital outside of Atlanta. Branson (Jared Sullivan) is into conspiracy theories and a government hater (not to be confused with a Trump advisor) and his girlfriend Rachel (Sara Bess) isn't. We see Rachel in the opening scene as the "final girl" and then we flash back after a bunch of newspaper clippings describing a dangerous drug. After the rave, 5 people awake, trapped inside the hospital as doom is certain. As a slasher film, it is nothing new. It does incorporate historical footage of the era in attempt to make it appear factual. Maybe they will do more and take down World Trade Center. Could be the next "The Purge" series. They need to create likeable revolutionaries if they are going to continue. Guide: F-word, sex, nudity.
B-movie with bad sound (voices)
Two years old and no review, that says enough I think. Because what I just saw was to be honest, a very strange thing to watch. Does it mean it was good by being a strange flick, sadly no. I can dig underground movies and I'm open to watch the not so popular horrors but please do offer something. The good thing are the effects used, just on the edge of gory sometimes the add towards the nastiness of this flick. Further, the story is what makes it hard to watch. The first minutes, over 10, are just some people dancing in a club. Sure, the 18+ is what you see in the club but not that 18+ worthy, just some topless girls dancing that's it. And it goes on and on, and some gays attracting girls and then a bit of sexy shots but hey, were in a horror movie aren't we, why does the club scene has to take so long. The movie only takes 76 minutes and not the 2 hours as stated on IMDB. And 76 is already way too long. eerie music combined with rave music doesn't make a horror. So in the last 30 minutes after a lot of rave and screaming and classic music the horror comes in. It's only when the killings start that the geeks are fed. Well done and bodies shown well done but it's all too late. The story, the annoying screaming and the sound of the voices mixed clearly afterwards (without limiters and compression) makes it a not easy flick to watch. B-movie indeed, so some will love this kind of flicks but for me it was a no go. Gore 1/5 Nudity 0,5/5 Effects 2/5 Story 1/5 Comedy 0/5
