1957. A happy time of big fins, Rockabilly music and innocent teen love... Until the Martians come. In one night three teenagers have their world turned upside down when threatened by Zombie Beatniks, hopped up on space weed and bent on harvesting earth women for Martian demise. Only our square hero Johnny Keen, with help from his beatnik friend, Maynard, can defeat them. But can Johnny become "cool" enough in time to save his girl, Susie, and the day?! Drenched in Rockabilly music and greaser culture, "Flying Saucer Rock N Roll" is one swell ride from start to finish.

Flying Saucer Rock 'N' Roll (2006) Reviews
Indie throwback spoof
FLYING SAUCER ROCK 'N' ROLL is an indie spoof/tribute/throwback to the 1950s science fiction genre in which Earth was always menaced by UFOs, alien invaders, Russians, you name it. This one flirts with various genre tropes but is in the whole rather dull and unconvincing, the lack of money really hurting it throughout. It's a deliberately cheesy escapade with lame acting and unfunny humour throughout, but most of all it just seems half hearted.
Flying Saucer Rock 'N' Roll
This movie rocks. This was a home made film by a talented young man, Eric Callero (aka Cody Devereaux, of the Tonight Show with Conan) & his parents for about $1,000.00. Most of that for food & drinks. They wrote it, designed & built all the sets, designed & engineered the gore & special effects, designed & fabricated the costumes, and used their own cars. Eric wrote and played many songs. Enlisted the help of his friends from around the world to put their songs on the soundtrack. He edited the film for nearly a year, making it a better film than the material he was working with. All the cast and crew worked their butts off for the love of cinema. An amazing film given the context of it's creation. I'd like to see Spielberg make something this sweet for a thousand bucks. Can't wait to see the next film Eric and his family makes next. Thanks for listening.
