Gekijouban Naruto Shippuuden: Za rosuto tawâ (2010) Reviews

  • A good Naruto movie

I have become accustomed with some pretty weird ideas in Naruto movies and a lot of useless scenes before Naruto unleashes some fox power or has the will of fire do something or something ridiculous like this. In Lost Tower, the story is much more believable, the characters are interesting and likable and overall the only thing I had a problem with is that Naruto is a very young one, a long time before the one in the anime as I know it. Of course, this was released in 2010 and has reached Europe a year later and I am seeing now, so a lot has happened since then. Basically, Naruto goes in the past, fights the evil madman ninja and saves the girl. He still gets none, though, which should have been frustrating for anyone not Japanese. Some interesting interaction with his father, though. Bottom line: an easy win for the Naruto movies.

  • The Dullest and Most Dissapointing "Naruto" Film Yet

I was quite interested heading into this movie because it has a rather negative reputation, and it turns out there's a reason for that. This installment in the "Naruto" movie series was mostly kind of a bore. Most of this film is either wasted potential or stuff that we have seen before in previous films. If you read my reviews, you might remember that I said the same thing about "Bonds", but even that film had more to offer than this one did. The thing that got me most excited is the fact that Naruto goes to the past and meets his father, Minato. This potential was completely squandered, however, because they did almost nothing with the character of Minato. Him and his teammates had no relevance to the plot aside from helping out in the battle scenes. They did so little with this idea that the movie would have been no different if they didn't include Minato at all. Sara is nothing special as a supporting character. Basically, she was yet another princess character who has been deceived by the person closest to her for many years and comes to her senses when Naruto gives her the obligatory "do the right thing and believe in yourself" pep talk. In fact, there are many ways that this movie is a rehash of the pervious films. These elements started getting old a few movies ago, and it was particularly stale here. Mukade is yet another bland and boring "Naruto" movie villain. I'd say he gives Shabadaba from "Guardians of the Crescent Moon Kingdom" and Shinno from "Bonds" a run for their money as the worst one yet. There were a couple of action scenes during the film that were pretty good, I guess, but things really started to drag during the third act. The climax was very repetitive and boring, and I just didn't really care about what was going on. The animation was okay, but nothing overly special aside from doing a really good job of selling the scale and scope of the city of Roran. After the fantastic "Inheritors of the Will of Fire", this film was a huge let down. I really thought that the interactions between Naruto and his father would give this movie some value, but the wasted potential just really disappointed me. The whole endeavor was rather boring for the most part, and I would caution "Naruto" fans to not expect too much from it. RATING: D+

  • its a great movie but i was maybe expecting something different

The action scenes are superb, animation its awesome as usual in studio pierrot movies, the story is actually pretty good. it has time travel and a crazy villain. its more about naruto alone which is very cool. some thing that i like in naruto movies are the villains, in most shonen anime movies the common cliché is a team of some villains and their boss vs all the main characters. in naruto movies they come with some good creative ideas for this. This time there's only one villain, a puppetmaster (i thought at the beginning of the movie he was pretty weak but at the last part when he is kicking everybody's ass he feels pretty strong. he fights trough his puppets so we see various shapes of him. its was great but i felt like naruto was the naruto from the time the previous movie came out, and i was expecting to see him in sennin mode kicking ass. the villain is good but the girl its only here for the almost give up-cheesy song before naruto's speech. About minato and the others from the past: it totally feels like a metal gear experience, because they just appear at sometimes say some things and disappear, letting you return to the video game. They say that they have something important to do, which is not really important because every major event happens in front of naruto. also i read about kid kakashi being proud and bla bla bla in this movie: kakashi has 2 lines in the whole movie so don't expect character development with him. I'm nitpicking i guess, its a great movie, its just that I'm a bitch like most anime fans. JUST ONE THING, the last technique of the movie, BLEW MY MIND! that technique its the most awesome thing in all naruto movies ever, it all comes down to a final razengan...
