Gopi, a 12-year old boy despite coming from a poor family is encouraged by his sister to attend school. Although a bully, Gopi is a talented sportsperson but his talent is undermined by the school headmaster, Mr. Dinkar Khandhare, who expels him for complaining about it to the school inspection officer. The incident leaves Gopi shattered and he becomes disinterested in sports. His life however changes for good, when a new teacher, Nandini madam and Mr. Vijay Patil, the school's physical instructor encourage him to participate in a race and assure him that the victory would change his life.
