Jue mi dang an: Mi shi shi jie (2002) Reviews
Mostly all-talk and less action thriller.
This is a pretty riveting Hong Kong thriller starring Wayne Lai and Fennie Yuen as private investigators Sam and Judy, who investigates a woman's unusual sleepwalking case and believes it might be connected to a series of wild animal deaths. There's really more talk than action in this film, but somehow, the drama and suspense manage to keep the movie engaging. The acting was OK for the most part, but you could tell some of the people were amateurish, little forced in their deliveries or emotionless (Marco Ngai as cop Kelvin). I would have liked to see more of Amanda Lee's character in the film, and less of the redundant and unnecessary Michael character, who was supposed to be some Men in Black ripoff creature. Overall, it's not a bad flick, fine to pass the time with. Grade B-
