Sports minister of Westbengal sends an alcoholic retired football player (Prasenjit Chatterjee) to a politically disturbed (by Maoist activities) village of Purulia to setup a football team. The intention was to build a good activity among the poor villagers and turn their attention to football. One day, the coach is kidnapped by the Maoist (leader Parambroto Chatterjee) and rescued later. Coach decides to stay back with the villagers and teach them football, however, the ministry decides to stop the football project and the cold fight begins between the sports minister and the football coach. Sports minister decided to organize a football match between the village team vs Kolkata akadosh. If the village team could perform well government would retain the project. In the match village team perform in a extraordinary way and able to retain the project.

This movie poorly follows the legendary movie Lagaan.
This movie poorly follows the legendary movie Lagaan. It has taken many scenes from so many movies. It is too much boring. Especially the acting of Prosenjit and Parambrat is very irritating. Prosenjit who acted so well in the films like Jatiswar, Moner Manush, Baishe Srabon; has performed too badly in this movie. Sometimes you may think that Prosenjit went to the village Kusumdi not as a football coach but as an English teacher; as he talks in English with the villagers, but he uses Bengali whenever he talks with Kolkata peoples. Prosenjit used to drink in a sub standard dhaba in Kolkata, but when he went to Kusumdi he asked for any nearby Shopping Mall. When he came to know that there is no shopping mall in Kusumdi then he got surprised. I was also surprised at that time how Padmanava and Parambrata could write this kind of dialogs. In this movie Parambrata is an activist and for his battle he has to stay in jungle. In spite of that he is able to maintain a fair skin. There is no sign of sun burn. Neither the background music nor the songs is significant in this movie. The only positive part in this movie is the acting of Kharaj and Indrasish.
