In ancient Athens, as the conflict between the Spartans and the Athenians rages on during the Peloponnesian War, the brave and resourceful Athenian women, led by the idealistic Lysistrata, have summoned up the courage to do the unthinkable. Fed up with their neglectful husbands and their continuous involvement with the endless battles, the abandoned wives decide to declare a state of total abstinence from sex, until their men come to their senses and make peace. Likewise, the equally neglected Spartan women, led by statuesque Labito, welcome the idea, and without a second thought, they join the noble cause for freedom, demanding peace.
