Mad, Sad & Bad with cheese!
What a great little film! I hadn't heard about it before watching it, and had no idea what it was about. I picked it on account of liking two of the main actors. And I wasn't let down. The story itself is about families, people trying to find happiness, and the usual stuff, but told in a very charming and amusing way. And if you like cheese you'll like this film, this song, which is composed during the film, comes into its own right at the end: "When I first met her She was eating cheddar. I thought it was unfair So I gave her Camembert. I got her on her knee, Just like a piece of brie. I tell her, I said no. No, no, no, pecorino. There's too much bliss In the holes in Swiss. And a little BabyBel Keeps me from hell. A tiny bit of brie Makes me so happy. Emmental, feta, Make it so much better." This film is probably not suitable for under 35s (although of course there's always the exception). It's full of a realism and the characters have a depth which is hardly seen in mainstream movies.
Don't waste your time with this one!
I really couldn't watch the whole film. Well to be precise I struggled to watch 15 minutes. Maybe the film didn't really have a chance to start, but I was going brain dead. This film might appeal to some people, but I class a comedy as a film with humour. Sorry, but I couldn't find any real humour in this film. Well one thing that made me laugh a little was the picture of the male date sent to the woman in the office. It didn't get any better than that! I have never switched a film off so quickly, especially after purchasing it from virgin movies on demand at a cost of £3.50. Next time I will review first then purchase. A lesson learnt!
