After the fateful day of her engagement to the brave Captain, Dimitris Zorbas, and the ominous eve of the devastating Greco-Italian War on 28 October 1940, Anna Koleti--the young daughter of a seasoned Greek Army Colonel--is forced to bid farewell not only to her father and brother, but also to her beloved husband.
