My Life as a Dead Girl (2015) Reviews

• A lot better than the standard LMN fare

  I usually just sit in my chair playing games while my wife watches the Lifetime movies, but something about this one grabbed my attention. Okay, maybe it's the fact that Cassie Scerbo is intensely attractive. I had to look her up to make sure she was legal. Whew. Even when her character was in high school, the clothes she wore made my head spin. I'm not going to ruin the plot for you, but she plays a reluctant prostitute trying to make her life better and ends up living someone else s life. I never really care about these movies, but the ending had me tearing up. BTW, the woman who played her aunt was incredible, playing the guilt of her character while also the fragility of hope and affection she was feeling for the main character.

  I really like Cassandra so maybe that's why I liked the movie more. I don't know. It is definitely a bit sappy but I like sappy. By the end I was crying like a wiener. It is hard to write a review when you don't want to spoil anything. Okay I didn't find her role as a prostitute overly believable but boy did she look hot. LOL And I'm a girl that isn't into girls.

  Brittany (Cassandra Scerbo) is a Portland prostitute working for vicious pimp Oscar Jackson (Chad Rook). Brittany befriends runaway foster kid Chelsea (Kirsten Prout). Oscar mistakenly kills Chelsea and Brittany decides to assume Chelsea's identity. Chelsea's aunt Kim (Keegan Connor Tracy) hasn't seen her since she was a child and wants to adopt her. It's one of those TV movies at the level of Lifetime. It's the worst grading it on the curve. The acting is functional. The most compelling story is the bullied high school girl. The fake dead girl story is tabloid fare. The ending is forced and quick. Overall, it doesn't really exceed that Lifetime level.

  Really like to see the light Time movies the true stories Mysteries all the time see more 17 year old girls movies all's I remember that right now a girl and a Britney is so sweet

  Snow day here, so I'm binging on movies in btwn naps on a lucky day off. I saw on the cast list that they are the same age irl, but I don't know how Cassie can pass for a high schooler. Maybe it's the attitude? But definitely as far as looks, she comes off as her real age. Even when she's "Chelsea," she looks too made up. I didn't realize until I read the summary that called her a "teen," that that's what she's meant to be. That said, so far it's not too bad. Typical Lifetime (which sometimes LMN movies can surprise you). Both of Chelsea's parents being dead, as well as an aunt too ashamed to adopt her in childhood, is pretty convenient. I didn't realize the story was over a month, everything happened so fast. I did like that the aunt and uncle weren't the typical naive characters that didn't follow up on inconsistencies. The uncle at least. The climax happened quickly and as expected. But it wasn't a terrible way to spend 90 minutes.
