  • Another impressive effort from the land of great Rom Coms

Note: Check me out as the "Asian Movie Enthusiast" on YouTube, where I review tons of Asian movies. He willingly spent 18 years in the "friend zone", but a young man begins to have sultry feelings over his long-time friend (who is a girl). I'm a fan of Seung-gi Lee (Brilliant Legacy, The King 2Hearts, Gu Family Book, My Girlfriend Is A Nine-Tailed Fox) as well as the gorgeous Chae-won Moon (My Fair Lady, Brilliant Legacy). Both give energetic, admirable performances and have great chemistry. There is a constant presence of outside love interests from start to finish, which makes for good interaction as well as some tension. Characters are developed properly. The humor is mostly grounded and works well. Another impressive effort from the land of great rom coms. This level of quality is what we've come to expect from South Korea. It's not quite as purely entertaining as "My Sassy Girl" (2001), "Couples" (2011), or "Castaway on the Moon" (2009), but it's damn good stuff. If a movie like this was made in the U.S., there would be an absurd amount of hype surrounding it.

  • An enjoyable slice of life of 'some' lovers in modern Seoul

    annmichelle-t2015-02-25

First of all, I adore Seung Gi Lee. When I heard about this movie, I thought if anyone can play a patient and loving guy following the girl of his dreams (well, not really, but I won't spill the beans!) all those years with no end in sight (seemingly!) Mr. Lee certainly can. And I wasn't disappointed. What's more, I also enjoy Lee's interactions with his co-star, the said girl who liked to chase but didn't know what she's chasing, and all those details that's the day to day life but also a subtle yet telling portrait of the 'some' relationship of our couple. By the way, 'some' here, a Korean word, means the vague state between "I like you" and "I love you," or between "I kind of like you" and "I definitely love you." To see how the two leads negotiate that treacherous landscape and find what they want is the essence of this movie. I am very glad that I made the journey with them.

  • Let's all look for a Jun Su

I liked the approach, the fun parts and the sweetness of the couple. I loved the plot to some extent but what saved the movie for me was the male lead. All the girls nowadays look for bad boys. I think it's as stupid as believing in Santa close. Making the male lead a sweet and nice guy gave the movie a special charm. Everything he does for the heroine makes any girl swoon, and I'm sure, many will know they deserve a Jun Su as well. The acting of the two leads is top notch! Bravo! And the chemistry is electrifying.

  • The movie to fall in love with

    maistanniversary2015-02-25

First of all, I'm a Lee Seung Gi's fan (the male lead,Kang junsu). I'm totally looking forward for this movie to be released because this is his first movie since his debut 11 years ago. (Im not sure if this is a spoiler or not) i like the first part of the movie when both the leads (kang junsu and kim hyunwoo) hangout like a cute couple and have a lot of sweet moments. But as the story enter the second part, honestly, what the needs of introducing the new character when everything already going smoothly as ever. I have no one to blame of, so i just continue watching till the end. There's some of the mis edited scene and they also cut out some of the scenes that was supposed to be included in the movie. I guess the story is a bit too long than they had imagined forcing them to shortening and editing out some scene. But it didn't bother me and the flow of the movie, not a big deal. About the acting,i may be a bit biased but Lee Seung Gi's (Kang Junsu) acting is awesome as ever. I like how he brilliantly portraying his character and same goes to the female lead, she displaying her character as a drunk women perfectly ^^ but Andrew's acting is awkward and stiff (this is his first role too). Some of his lines are cheesy but it doesn't matter much because he is not the one who carried this movie from the beginning till the end. Anyway, the storyline is not the best storyline but it's not bad either. The reason why I'm giving this movie 10 out of 10 is because of the fresh-sweet-kind-of-movie. I like romantic comedy genre and i watched a lot of movie with this genre. What so special about this movie is it gave such a warm feelings which is indescribable. Totally the movie you will fall in love with <3
