Newly arrived in town Nat and Gabe accept a dinner invitation from the volatile Hungarian Helene and her boorish husband Sasha. Whilst the other guests, ex-Bananarama member Marty, Angie, who 'makes bullets' and the supposedly suicidal Danny are affable enough, Nat and Gabe are shocked by their hosts' very public rows and Gabe's attempt at peace-making is awkwardly received. Nat is taken aback when virtual stranger Helene confides in her about Sasha's suspected infidelity and Gabe is rudely rebuffed when he tries to have a heart to heart with Sasha. After Helene physically attacks her husband the newcomers are desperate to leave but when Danny drops a bombshell Gabe is torn between responsibility and the easy way out.

A fantastic, witty comedy
Nat and Gabe are new in town, having recently moved from Strood, the couple accept a dinner invitation from Helene and Sasha. Helene a fiery, impulsive Hungarian, Sasha a serious, stoic chap, keen to move to be near his ex. The evening's guest list is completed by Angie and Marty, the latter an ex member of Bananarama, and the suicidal Danny. Helene and Sasha provide the evening's entertainment screaming at each other and hurling abuse, Nat and Gabe try their best to escape. Forty five minutes of dry wit, sarcasm, and black humour, the characters were brilliantly drawn. For me, Victoria Hamilton stole the show with her larger then life performance as Helene, but Adeel Akhtar and Eva Birthistle were equally great. For all the volatility and laugh out loud moments, the highlight of the show had to be the moment where Danny discusses his rather grim thoughts with Gabe, it's a very touching moment, showcasing how good this bunch of actors are. Superb show. 9/10
Clever, witty, dry humour - surprisingly entertaining.
First let me say I'm a sci-fi/action fan. This is not a movie I would have watched. I expected it was the Marina Sirtis / Mindy Robinson 2016 sci-fi movie of the same name (and year). Also I should point out that the vast majority of my reviews are 6.0 or lower so keep that in mind before dismissing my 8 out of 10 as SPAM. The Circuit has zero action or sci-fi. It is basically a dinner party thrown by people the main couple have just met. I expected to be bored to death and to change it to something else as I am not a fan of soap operas or melodrama but... it is really, really funny and insightful. Not 3 Stooges funny but Steven Wright funny. Very dry humour - the kind you have to step back and think - did they just say that? Off the wall humour with a cast that are perfect in their roles. These are real people with real quirks. Each actor is odd but remains true to their own characters through-out and it never descends into farce. As such the acting is excellent. One character, in particular, seems to be unreasonably offensive and vulgar however by the end of the movie I understood why he would be like that and even sympathized with his situation. I highly recommend this movie for anyone with a dry sense of humour who isn't easily offended. Lastly, this is a movie that will definitely provoke multiple discussions if viewed in a group.
Same old
Disappointing & didn't laugh once. Sharon is just writing the same characters wrapped up in different names. A sarcastic female lead that swears, just like Pulling, Free agents, Catastrophe and now this. Atleast she's not acting the lead this time, although she's been replaced with someone extremely similar. Pointless watching anything "new" from her, its all the same, unfortunately..
