• Bare behind and in bars

  *SPOILER ALERT* *SPOILER ALERT* I bought this video. Oxenberg takes the rap for the murder of her abusive husband. She ends up in a women's prison. Thankfully, this prison has a progressive work release program. If she would just agree to dance topless at a local bar, she may shave some time off. After a little abuse, she decides stripping is not such a bad idea. Eventually she takes the bus over to the nudie bar. The rest of the flick has a lot of strip club scenes as Oxenberg fights for her freedom. Yes, it's two movies in one. "Time Served" can't decide if it wants to be a women's prison flick or a stripper movie. In the end, the stripper movie prevails. Since all they really wanted was to show some naked breasts, keeping the action in the strip club made the most sense. While "Time Served" sounds like an exploitation fan's dream come true, the filmmaker's hearts really weren't into the abusive, violent side of the women's prison genre. But, as we all know, any movie with strip club scenes must be good on some level. Overall, it was a decent B-flick. It's worth a look.

• Two bad movies for the price of one

  Wow, they combined a women-in-prison movie with a strip-club movie. Unfortunately, neither one is very good. The prison is full of average-looking to pretty white women. Not nearly enough nudity in the prison part of the film, and breasts in topless bar scenes really aren't that erotic. Catherine Oxenberg wasn't scintillating in the starring role, although she is quite pretty. Lourdes Colon was pretty decent here, and deserves a try in a better movie. It WAS refreshing to see women's breasts that could actually appear in nature. Maybe the silicone craze has run its course. (I hope)

• Fast forward every time a pole appears on screen , and it's almost watchable ....

  "Time Served" is a cartoon-like women in prison movie that has little going for it. The plot is ridiculous, a work release program at a strip club, a judge with a very dim view of women is the club's best customer, the warden, Louise Fletcher, gets a piece of the action, and finally, the wrongly imprisoned Catherine Oxenberg pole dances about as well as my goldfish. All is forgiven however whenever Bo Hopkins is on the screen. With his hair dyed blonde, the corpulent Hopkins as "Mr.D", the strip club owner, plays his part in a bizarre, overacting stupor. My suggestion for viewing "Time Served" is to hit the fast forward button anytime a pole appears, and it's almost watchable. A couple stiff drinks wouldn't hurt either. - MERK

• WELL, I LIKE STRIPPER MOVIES

  I do like them in general but if you think Blake Picket was bad as an anguished stripper in "Confessions of a Lap dancer," check out Catherine Oxenberg in this low budget semi soft core pic. Some of the other dancing is pretty good though. The plot is ludicrous and there is one really distasteful scene where Catherine gets beat up by a sadistic guard.

• Sort of disturbing

  Admittedly, my boyfriend and I did not rent this movie because we thought it would be oscar material. However, this movie is flawed because the director or screenwriter tried to combine a legitimate drama (inspired by a true story) with a T&A movie. This formula does not work because there is too much nudity for it to be taken seriously, but too many disturbing events (Like Sarah's rape, and her crying while dancing on the pole) for it to be an enjoyable T&A film. I would consider this movie a "Showgirls- Lite" --and that's not a good thing.
