Two Days with Juliet (2004) Reviews
perfectly cast....
perfectly written as well. I saw this movie awhile ago and still it has remained. Juliet is a girl you know, a girl that could be you in a moment. And Pete is the boy every girl would want to meet. Clean cut yet not unrealistically movie'esque characterizational. They meet, they change each other for the better, but nothing good comes easily. This is a sweet yet non-cavity inducing love story that ranks up there with the best movies we've all seen in the theater at the prompting of the industry at large. Two Days with Juliet also has a suitable musical score. Independent film maker Michael E. Mustizer is a talent long overlooked. He writes, he films, he casts and he directs and there is not one hole in his all inclusive plan. This is not his first effort and the experience shines through. I look for big things from this creative genius, but it's hard to imagine even him topping this movie. It shines even without the spotlight of hollywood....yet!
A fine film, and an impressive second offering
Filmmaker Michael Mustizer is destined to be one of the film industries gems, simply from the fact that he knows films, and it shows in the fact that this is only his second (true) feature. Shot on a shoestring budget in Northern New York, this film tackles some tough subject matter, but Mr. Mustizer and cast pull if off with a grace that isn't often seen in film anymore. It's good to know that in this age of throwaway sequels, and remakes that attempt to cash in on movies that they cannot hope to measure up too, there are still people out there willing to tell original and interesting stories about characters that you truly have never seen before. If you get a chance to see this film, I suggest you jump on it.
An Independant Treasure
Personalities clash when a chance meeting bring two people that are dealing with problems together, and this movie displays that awkwardness effectively. Winona Rider and Russell Crowe are not in the film but the two main characters brought these two actors to mind while viewing, though briefly, as the movie progressed and I identified with their characters. Henri Ramsey, my favorite actor in this movie, plays his part as the Lawyer/accountant wonderfully. As the Director, He and the film maker Mike Mustizer did some quality work with this film. Better than the Last Productions are worth keeping an eye on to see what they do next.
What it was like
I'm the movies producer and I want to say that I have never had so much fun doing something like this. It's the first time that I have had something I was involved with actually get this kind of attention. I had a ball doing it and can't wait to get started on the next one. Thanks to everyone who has supported Better than the Last productions and I hope that you will continue to do so. This is surreal for me in that I didn't expect this kind of attention to come so soon. I thought about it all the time as we were in production but, I didn't think I would be writing about a movie I produced HERE on IMDb less than a year after filming. I knew when we were finished with casting that this was going to be a good movie. I also knew that it would be noticed by SOMEONE who had the right resources to get it out to the public and now it's happening. Thanks to all the cast and crew for making this an experience to remember.
