With depressive video store clerk Raven helping to fend off the horde, they may stand a chance of making it through the night without getting devoured - or worse. But who is Miller, and what connection does his missing wife have to these horrible creatures. By the time the weary survivors find out, it may already be too late.

Zombie Apocalypse (2010) Reviews
"Who Forgot About The Chef?!"
Another ultra low budget zombie flick. How deceptive those DVD covers look huh? I will never trust DVD covers again! Lol Anyways about this flick, I did not care for it at all. Some scenes I could not stand. Like the Goth chick Raven(who by the way does nothing really but taking so-call pictures of the zombies!? WTF!?) trying to start up the chainsaw and can never really get it started and when she does , we get a cheap "Money Shot" of a scene! (You can even tell the chainsaw is not running but you can still hear the sound of it!) lol And by then the so-called hero,Miller, had dispatched most of the zombie anyways. And about this hero, who I could barely understand cause he's like trying to sound like the "poor man's" version of Kurt Russell's Snake Plisskin and Christian Bale's Batman at the same time! He even tries cutting his hair and putting a bandana a la Rambo! lol Not believable or funny for one minute.(Weird trivia: There is an extended scene on DVD where the hero Miller and Goth chick are having a conversation and he does not have that weird accent or that weird voice at all and actually sounds normal!? What the hell?!) lol Another annoying and painful to watch scene was with the actor( if he can be called that) playing the bouncer/security guy in the bar. Thank goodness they killed him quick cause he could not act for nothing! I mean I give everybody a 'A' for effort but they better have other jobs because as actors/writers/directors, they are not gonna make it. The only decent performance I got somewhat because he has a more natural way of acting, was by the actor playing "Mark" (Michael Empson). With time and way better roles to showcase himself, this guy could have a chance later on.
Crap like this ought to be against the law
Can't the government do something about movies like Zombie Apocalypse? I mean, the FDA wouldn't let me mix up some cold medicine in my garage and sell it to people. The State Patrol wouldn't let me drive down the street in a car I cobbled together out of duct tape, aluminum foil and a lawn mower engine. If you drop out of school in the 7th grade, you're not allowed to hang up a shingle and call yourself a lawyer. Yet for some reason, any ambitious half wit who can squeeze a loaf of cinema out of his creative anus is allowed to sell it to the public as though it were a professionally made product. That ain't right. At the very least there should be some sort of rating system to warn people, labeling garbage like this as MBTM - Made By Talentless Morons. This motion picture is atrocious. Nothing about it is better than amateurish and a lot doesn't even reach that low standard. This script would get you flunked out of screen writing class. These performances would get you kicked out of acting class. The direction would get you deported from the country. I could give a camera and a boom mic to a bunch of middle schoolers and send them out into the woods and they could improv a better film than this. It really should be illegal to market and distribute something this woeful. Putting this DVD on the shelves and waiting for someone to rent it is like digging a pit and waiting for someone to fall in, then stealing their wallet. This film is about a band of survivors who have to work together to survive after a virus outbreak causes the dead to rise. Now, that same description can be applied just as accurately to dozens, if not hundreds, of other low-budget flicks out there about the walking dead. But even though almost all of them stink on ice, most would still probably be better than Zombie Apocalypse. What is it about zombies that attracts such cheap and grotesquely bad filmmaking? There have been terrible werewolf and vampire movies, but nowhere near the number or as crudely made as zombies. If this were simply a matter of incompetent boobs trying to make a movie and failing in tragic fashion, I could forgive that. There's a certain charm to that sort of Ed Wood-ian sincerity. That's not what is going on with these dunderheads. There are too many times when the film slides haphazardly from pitiful attempt at drama to even more pitiful attempts at comedy and then back again to be unintentional. There are too many unbelievably horrid fight scenes that look like something out of live action role playing to be accidental. There are too many moments where Zombie Apocalypse plainly tries to embrace a "so bad it's good" ethic for this excrement to be the work of guys who were unaware of how much they suck. From awful voiceovers to imbecilic plot twists to aping stuff they saw in Shawn of the Dead, the folks who made this junk knew what a ghastly job they were doing. They just didn't care. The people who made Zombie Apocalypse should be beaten with hickory sticks. The people who put it out into the DVD market should be forced to bathe in the bowel movements of a thousand fat men. You not only shouldn't watch this movie, you shouldn't be friends with anyone who likes it.
So bad....it's just bad
This movie cropped up alongside all the new releases in the shop. I like zombie films so thought i'd give it a try. The cover art looked good but unfortunately bares no resemblance to the film. The film is just awful from start to finish. no one can act and the zombies look like a 5 year old was hired to do the makeup. It may be low budget but that's not an excuse. If you have no money then you need to be clever with what you do have. Trying to make a zombie movie with no story, no actors and no effects just results in boring garbage. The whole things feels like a you-tube homage to zombie films made by some kids in a garage.
one of the worst movies I have seen
I can handle my fair share of "cheese", but this one just sucks on any meter. Terrible acting, terrible script and horrible directing make Zombie Apocalypse one of the worst movies I have ever seen. I really had a problem sitting through this mess of a movie. The zombies were not even scary. I was even rooting for the zombies. I was hoping they would kill everyone else off before the first 15 minutes and the movie would just end. It really seemed like a gang of friends with some camcorders just went to some abandoned buildings out in the woods and just did a weekend take. I rented this at my local video store. It was on the new release section next to Zombieland. I am going to give them a hard time for having this on the new release section.
Fun If That's What You Want
Sometimes it's nice to watch a movie that makes you think. Sometimes, a movie that's emotionally affecting is what you're after. Sometimes, you just want to amuse yourself. If the latter is what you want, then I'd most definitely recommend Zombie Apocalypse. Now, let's get one thing straight right off the bat; this movie doesn't attempt to break new ground. It's not about introducing a film-making revolution, nor does it attempt to take itself too seriously. It's the kind of movie one might watch while drunk (or otherwise inebriated) with friends. All the character archetypes are here: The Badass, The Goth Chick, The Hapless Nerd, The Comedic Relief, The Shadowy Government/Corporation figure... They're all here, and the roles are played surprisingly well, this film being made on the budget it was. Some have complained that this movie is horrible. I suspect these people were looking for something more than Ryan Thompson was offering. Long story short; if you want massive budgets, OTT special effects and a-list actors, look elsewhere. If you want a movie that is as funny as it is plain cool, then you may just enjoy this.
